Frequently
Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your tour with us.

General

Never. All wildlife at Jungle Life lives freely in its natural habitat. We never cage, bait, or handle animals for our tours.

Booking

Booking ahead helps us enormously with logistics: knowing how many people are coming tomorrow lets us arrange guides in time. Ten bookings in the system is a very different thing from those same ten people arriving unannounced. That is why we recommend it. But it is not a requirement — you can book half an hour ahead, or less, and you are welcome to simply turn up.

Yes, both. You can book the same day — even half an hour ahead — and you are also welcome to simply turn up. If you are coming as a large group or during high season, letting us know beforehand gives us room to have a guide ready when you arrive.

Yes, without any trouble. We are very flexible about this: if you need to cancel or move your tour to another day or time, just write to us and we will sort it out.

The tour goes ahead. We are in the rainforest: rain is part of the experience, and a lot of wildlife shows itself more readily once it cools down. We only stop when conditions would put the safety of our visitors or our team at risk, and that is rare — since 2022 we have had to close for a few hours on just three occasions. Bring a light waterproof jacket and closed shoes.

Tours

The Sloth Tour lasts one hour. The Frog Tour, the Night Tour and the Bird Watching Tour each last two hours.

The Sloth Tour leaves every hour, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bird Watching has two departures: 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Frog Tour and the Night Tour both leave at 5:00 p.m. Do note that those last two start at the same time, so they cannot be done on the same evening.

A bilingual guide, a complimentary snack afterwards, free wifi and free entry to our Butterfly Garden.

Spanish and English, always. We also offer tours in French with one of our guides; for that it is best to arrange it in advance.

Our guides find them on nearly every tour: they know the trees the sloths use and where to look. But these are wild animals living freely, so we will not promise what nature does not guarantee. What is guaranteed is a guide who knows how to read the forest — and along the way plenty of other species usually turn up.

Yes. It is a family tour with no minimum age. The trails are easy and the group sets the pace, so it works just as well for small children as for older visitors.

It is very easy. The trails are wide, have no steps and only very gentle slopes, so they can be done in a wheelchair. No particular level of fitness is needed.

Comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, a light rain jacket, and your camera. Water is provided, but feel free to bring your own.

Payments

We accept cash and credit or debit cards. You can also pay online when you book through the site.
